“Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” - Here we see God's complete control over nature. He moved the water, he set the boundaries and said thus far an no further (Job 38:11). This also points through to Jesus, who has command over the waves also (Matthew 8:23-27, Mark 4:35-41 and Luke 8:22-25) which is more proof that he is truly God.
'And it was so.' - God speaks and it happens. He is all powerful and worthy of all glory honour and praise. Serve God!
'And God saw that it was good.' - This is the second time God says something was good (see verse 4) God is good, and creates good things. All that we have from him is good (Matt 7:11 - If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!). Without God, there is nothing Good, he is the definition of good. He is 100 % perfect, holy, powerful and Just. We are 100 % depraved because of sin, we are unholy, broken, weak and deserve eternal judgement. But, God is also merciful, Loving and compassionate. So much so that he sent his only son Jesus who died for us, so we can see his goodness, not his judgement.
Repent and Believe! Turn to God.
Parallel Verse:
Job 38:11
When I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther;
here is where your proud waves halt’?
